Newbie Net

Hosted by:  Larry Nossen  N1NQU

Every Monday the Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club holds the Newbie Net on the FGCU Repeater (AC4TM) 146.820 [Neg offset ] PL 136.5hz, following the “Monday Nite Meeting On The Air” and the “Traders Net”

The Newbie Net is open to everyone, especially new Ham Radio Operators. The net gives new Hams an opportunity to get some actual “On the Air Operating Experience” while enjoying some “No Pressure Mike Time.” Both newcomers and seasoned ham radio operators are welcome.
Larry Nossen N1NQU serves as Net Control of the Newbie Net. He will first ask operators to “Check In” and suggest discussion topics or bring questions / problems related to new projects, modes, antennas, equipment, operating environments, and anything else they may have, to the Net.
Then, drawing on the experience of operators on the Net, Larry will endeavor to find solutions to problems or will let members explore ideas / projects brought up by Newbie Net participants. And, just in case you think that only the “old timers” might be offering solutions, we’ve often found that Newbies have experience in more recent technical areas (think Raspberry Pi, SDR, QRP projects) that some of the “old timers” can benefit from as well as Newbies.
Please join us for the Newbie Net on Monday evening!
